"Martignani sprayers never break down."

On a very cold December morning, we decided to move to the Forli countryside, to the Sole e Terra farm, to talk with owner Fabrizio Rabiti, a customer and friend of Martignani.

Sole e Terra is a family business established many years ago, thanks to Fabrizio’s father, and started with only 3 hectares of land. Then later the farm expanded to currently own about 65 hectares of crops, mainly stone fruits (peaches, plums), kiwis and apples.

Fabrizio tells us how he met Martignani, about 15 years ago, thanks to a neighbor of his who has been using our machines for over 30 years and who also let him try them more than once. And so it was that after trying Martignani sprayers, a few months ago he decided to purchase a 1500-liter electrostatic Turbo 2.

To be even more convinced Of the effectiveness and validity of Martignani electrostatic charge, Fabrizio wanted to do an analysis at a private laboratory, where he delivered a fruit sample taken from an orchard treated with the electrostatic charge on and a fruit sample taken from an orchard treated with the electrostatic charge off. Both treatments were done on the same day, with the same barrel and the same products (3 different products) at full dose, i.e., following label directions.

Six days after treatment, fruit samples were analyzed and:

Of one of the products in the treatment, there were no traces in either the orchards treated with electrostatic charge or those without
Of the second product, 6% more product was present in orchards treated with electrostatic charge than those treated without.
Of the third product, 30 percent more product was present in orchards treated with electrostatic charge than those treated without.

With these analyses, according to Fabrizio, it shows how “although it has been 6 days which is too long, as I should have had the analysis done the next day, the deposit of product, in fruit, is much better with electrostatic charge. And the residue is still far below the legal limits.”

This is thanks to Martignani’s technology and electrostatic charge that ensures uniform dye coverage and no residue. In fact, the microdroplets are polarized and repel each other because they are charged with the same sign, while they are attracted by vegetation of the opposite sign, and are deposited with incredible homogeneity and without the slightest accumulation of active ingredient. This makes it possible to protect crops in a sustainable way.

Sun and Earth treatments: saving water and time

The Sole e Terra company carries out treatments at 300 liters/hectare and a speed of 6.8 km/hr, and in just a few months has already noticed improvements in crops as well as significant savings. Considering that most users of conventional fruit sprayers do treatments with 1500 liters/hectare, we are talking about a water savings of about 80 percent and many fewer trips to fill the barrel. Regarding this topic he added that “Martignani sprayers never break down. We do treatments from February to October, and there is virtually no downtime. This is so important for us because at certain times, certain types of treatment we have to do them quickly, and we can’t stop“.

Being able to minimize the number of fills is critical

He goes on to say that “we with Martignani can treat up to 14 hectares in a day. Being able to minimize the number of refills is crucial, because at certain times of the season, the products we use are many and having to refill many times is an added difficulty as well as and especially a waste of time.”

After the testimonies of many of our customers around the world and also thanks to the Martignani Theorem created in the 1970s by our founder, Eng. Claudio Martignani, we know that after a few initial seasons (in which the manufacturer pays back the machine) the savings with the use of Martignani sprayers is at least 200 €/hectare per year on average. These figures are also confirmed by Fabrizio, mainly due to time and fuel savings .
